Kristen & Mike

It was a cold winter’s day in January when Kristen’s smile warmed Mike’s heart from across the room of Flyjin Supperclub. Perhaps it was the birthday drinks or maybe Kristen “just knew,” but something made her get up and daringly walk up to Mike (a complete stranger) to ask for a birthday hug that day. The rest, as they say, is history!

Knowing of Marrone Films for years, Kristen contacted us for a meeting within a week of Mike’s proposal:

“Loving pictures and memories the way that I do, I needed a company with experience, grace and a fantastic reputation and repertoire. I had to have the best, which in my opinion, they [Marrone Films] are. Throughout the day and afterwards, they, as a company, exceeded all of our expectations and left us with the most wonderful video and album. I would without a doubt recommend Marrone Films!”

Kristen and Mike’s beautiful summer wedding was a day filled with romance, elegance, glamor… and lots of sparkle! The day started in Montreal’s historic Old Port which always makes for a beautiful and romantic backdrop for wedding photography.

“I really wanted to have my photos in the Old Port and we had a tight timeline, yet [Marrone Films] made it work and knew exactly which pictures to take and how to have us pose and make it back on time… Pete was inventive/creative and a whole lot of fun to work with.”

Since we absolutely adore candid photography, we loved that Kristen and Mike wanted to do a “First Look.” Sometimes called a Reveal, or Meet Cute, this new trend is a break from the tradition of the groom seeing his bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle. This is a fun and intimate moment, where the couple gets to see one another for the first time in a moment that is just for them… and the cameras of course!

Kristen and Mike had their First Look in the Gibby’s stable.  The instant a bride and groom first lock eyes on their big day is incredibly romantic and exciting!

The ceremony took place in the gardens of The Challenger reception hall. We were happy to be able to provide Kristen and Mike with the drone-shot of the ceremony that they had envisioned.

The hall itself looked like a magical garden, as it was filled to the brim with sweet smelling pink and cream flowers and candlelight. We did our best to capture every detail, which make for great memories when you look at your pictures and video in years to come.

As “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri played for Kristen and Michael’s first dance as husband and wife you could feel their love for each other, and the love of their family and friends for them. We were so thrilled to be part of Kristen and Michael’s magical day and wish them every lasting love and happiness!
