Honouring Heroes, Supporting Mental Health, and Inspiring Change
On September 26th 2024, guests gathered at the elegant Maison Principale for the 6th annual Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation Fundraising Gala. The evening was filled with captivating performances, touching speeches, and heartwarming films that deeply moved the audience. By the end of the night, an incredible net total of $600,000 was raised to support mental health care in Canada, marking the event a tremendous success.
Marrone Films had the honour of partnering with the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation creating two powerful films that premiered at the gala. Both films were set at The Pepper Pod, a retreat centre for women veterans, and focused on resilience, health, and healing.
The first film shared the emotional story of Sandra Perron, the founder and CEO of The Pepper Pod, highlighting her journey of survival and leadership in the military and her new role in supporting fellow veterans.
The second film featured Carine Watier, certified health coach, sharing with veterans a compelling presentation on the crucial link between gut health and mental well-being.
The gala was hosted by Cathy Priestman, with Chris Nilan also taking the stage to share a powerful message on addiction and the importance of seeking help. The evening's entertainment featured performances by Mackenzie Moreau, Sophie Hébert, Brittany Kennell, Denis Ducharme, The Other Side Of Cool and Barry F. Lorenzetti, Founder of the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation, who captivated attendees with renditions of classic hits such as “Got My Mind Set On You”, “Sweet Caroline”, and one of Barry’s favourites, the Beatles' “Now And Then”.
These performances were enhanced by Maison Principale's new projection mapping technology, which brought the stage to life with stunning visuals, creating a truly immersive and unforgettable experience.
The Marrone Films crew included Rick, Vito, Julian and Masa who filmed the event from multiple creative angles, ensuring every moment was captured for the event highlight film.
With an impressive turnaround time, the Marrone team delivered a preview of the highlight film in under 24 hours after the event. Rick Marrone, Director at Marrone Films, shared, "I worked closely with Susan Dabrowski and Susan Fuda from the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation during the editing process. Collaboration was key to making these films creative, emotional, and impactful." Rick added, “When working with the Barry F. Lorenzetti team, we feel like part of the family. We are honoured to partner with and sponsor their foundation, helping to contribute toward mental health care in Canada.”
The gala was an inspiring evening of generosity and hope, raising funds to impact mental health care across Canada. Together, we can make a difference—Donate today to support the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation’s mission.
